What the sign means
Dhurus Al-Khail
Sadu-inspired machine embroidery. An original design drawn by us; not Sadu weaving and not a handwoven piece.
Motif meaning (Dhurus Al-Khail): Two-colour squares, said to be horses' molars. Sources: Al-Najada, Folk Culture; Abu Dhabi Culture, 2022.
With respect for Al Sadu and the Bedouin women who have kept this craft alive across generations. Read more about the motifs on our Signs page.
The embroidery designs shown are original designs prepared by Sadu by miniblank, inspired by traditional Sadu motifs. They are not Sadu weaving and not handwoven products. The brand claims no right in the traditional Sadu motifs themselves; its rights are limited to its own designs. The embroidery is machine-made.
Two-colour squares repeating in a row, called the horses' molars. On a rib-knit beanie for cold nights.
Material and embroidery
Rib knit, short fisherman fit. The Dhurus Al-Khail design, machine embroidered on the front of the beanie in standard embroidery threads close to its own colours, within an area of about 13 × 4 cm.
