What the sign means
Al-Hanbaliyya
Sadu-inspired machine embroidery. An original design drawn by us; not Sadu weaving and not a handwoven piece.
Motif meaning (Al-Hanbaliyya): A great diamond of five or more colours, rare because it takes so long to weave. The sources record no meaning for it, so we give only its name and description. Source: Al-Najada, Folk Culture.
With respect for Al Sadu and the Bedouin women who have kept this craft alive across generations. Read more about the motifs on our Signs page.
