What the sign means
Al-Dalla
Sadu-inspired machine embroidery. An original design drawn by us; not Sadu weaving and not a handwoven piece.
Motif meaning (Al-Dalla): The coffee pot is one of the tree's signs. Our reading: generosity. Sources: Abu Dhabi Culture, 2022; Canavan, 2011; Al Bayan.
With respect for Al Sadu and the Bedouin women who have kept this craft alive across generations. Read more about the motifs on our Signs page.
The embroidery designs shown are original designs prepared by Sadu by miniblank, inspired by traditional Sadu motifs. They are not Sadu weaving and not handwoven products. The brand claims no right in the traditional Sadu motifs themselves; its rights are limited to its own designs. The embroidery is machine-made.
The coffee pot, one of the tree's signs, in geometric lines as the weavers wove it. For the majlis and winter coffee.
